Now shipping Version 5 of this product - The DB2.1 is a bridgeable 2 channel amplifier endowed with excellent sound control features and advanced protection circuitry. Designed principally for use as a stereo amp to run high powered coaxial or component speakers, it produces a beautifully wide and controlled sound. The amplifier can also be used to run small lightweight subwoofers and offers good performance for its size due to its mono-inspired power supply design, integrated subsonic filter and fully adjustable crossover controls. Also fitted with an RCA line output, the Bassface DB2.1 makes it very easy and convenient to connect from one source RCA, making the addition of extra amplification simple further down the line. The DB2.1 has evolved over almost six years into a sonically excellent, reliable and still very affordable quality automotive amplifier.

Version History

A product that has been in the lineup since the start of the Bassface brand. The DB2.1 was created to be an inexpensive, high quality, reliable amp and it continues to be exactly that. V1 – Exactly what it said on the tin. V2 – The same but production moved to a new location. V3 – Same again with improved output by changing a few components. V4 – 2016 styling and black terminal posts. V5 - Assembiles from November 2016. Following analysis in detail the amplifier has undergone improvements. Transformers and inductors are affixed to the PCB using improved adhesive. New output transistors for significant extra power. Reverse polarity connection protection upgraded to improve chances of withstanding a reverse connection. The circuit board has been lifted in the case to align the controls better and a rounded mounting foot has been introduced also to remove sharp edges. Crossover distortion has been reduced due to detail changes on the board. Felt strips have been added under the baseplate to ensure no rattles. V5.1 - Same as V5 but shipped in an attractive outer carton (pictured). Deliveries of this unit expected to begin late Q3 2017 but stock arrived Q2 2017, queued up behind V5.
