Now shipping Version 3 of this product - The SPL15.2 has undergone significant development this last year - the latest model still features 4+4 DVC operation but adds additional excursion and a host of other big changes over the outgoing model. Offering improved double spider design with awesome woven in tinsel leads, better cooling, and all machine glued construction. SPL 15.2 brings extreme, rebuildable 15 inch performance to an affordable price point. A large treated foam surround affords the cone excellent excursion with great linear stability throughout the whole stroke, combined with the new double spider to allow extremely tight cone control. This keeps the moving parts from distorting under the extreme loads expected. The basket, like the SPL12.2, is a cast aluminium multi arm design that minimises load on the rear of the cone - the low resonance and extreme rigidity further minimise distortion as the basket can not flex. The new magnets are double stacked super high density ceramic units rated at Y35 for a more active field in the air gap. The T yoke assembly at the back of the sub is “In & Out” vented – this means it has a ring of smaller cooling holes outside of the voice coil in addition to the standard large central vent inside the voice coil. This drastically reduces heat generation and unwanted compression. Absolutely ideal for general use this is a versatile woofer that will produce tremendous SPL and keep up with complex SQ passages - its the Swiss Army Knife of 15 inch woofers! Like the smaller SPL12.2 we believe that this the best subwoofer for the price that money can buy.
Version History
Prototype – The SPL15.2 is the bigger version of the SPL12.2, it was always designed to be such. The prototype performed its function perfectly to this end so production was undertaken.

V2 – Seeing that we could improve performance and sound quality by making the rear cooling vent on the back plate larger, we did just that. Also we increased the size of the Spider marginally by using a different spider. V3 - Assemblies from November 2016 revises the spider to a double design and has woven in tinsel leads, as well as machine glued construction and slightly smaller magnet diameter (200mm rather than 220). Note that there was some vesion overlap with Amazon.co.uk selling V2 approximately 30 pieces of the V2 item whilst Rest Of World had V3.8
V3 - Marked as discontinued 28/11/18 after black friday sale where remaining stock was sold to export market. Product was replaced by SPL15.2S. Support ended 28/11/20.
