The neat little SPL3.1 takes advantage of all of the same building materials as its larger counterparts to come up with a great package. It has silk dome tweeters for smooth high end sound and a stiff and light woven composite cone for precise mid response. With only 3″ of diameter the bass response is limited but when run with an appropriate crossover its performance is still solid and convincing with sizeable magnet and motor structure compensating well for lack of cone area. Overall it is easy to see why these SPL coaxials sound so excellent with such strong family genes. Featuring market leading technology they are pushing the boundaries of what you can expect from products at this price point.
