Now shipping Version 3 of this product - Our Third generation of bullet tweeter. Same performance with a more efficient magnet and now is even better looking than its predecessor! The SPLT.2 is a pure thoroughbred performance product. Designed with pro audio and pro SPL customers in mind, this tweeter will wipe the floor with comparative products from the off. It has a massive cast enclosed motor and extended Tractrix horn throat for increased directivity and more even frequency response. These bad boys can handle a massive 350w Maximum each! (175w RMS at frequencies at or above 5khz.) The precision machined throat and bullet further aid a smooth and crisp output whilst also making this tweeter look as terrific as it sounds – something worth showing off as opposed to trying to hide behind cloth or grilles! Suitable for both pro and automotive applications this is one highly sensitive, highly powerful and highly desirable tweeter drive unit. In keeping with our philosophy of supporting clients we are also pleased to announce the availability of the SPLT.2RC recone kit which enables customers to repair burned out units. Now shipping with pre fitted 3.3uF capacitors for easy installation. Note that these capcitors will ensure a safe installation in every case but that they can be removed for use in an active system or be replaced by other capacitors as long as the drive frequency is taken into account to prevent damage. We suggest trying 8 or 9uF capacitors (not supplied) as an alternative if you are interested in experimentation.

Version History

Prototype – We created the SPLT.2 to be a higher power, higher quality, all round more sexy version of the SPLT.1. It excelled in most but the much higher power field so we went ahead and put it into production. V1 – The V1 is a great piece of audio construction it feels as good as it looks. And we think it looks amazing. This signed is very smooth and clear although it can be very bright and is very revealing of poor quality amplifiers. No major issues were encountered with design or manufacture. However we have noted some requirements and changes that needed to be made to make a better product in the V2. V2 – The V2 features ready attached capacitor crossovers and shorter terminals so as to make fitment a little bit more convenient. Rated power shunted down slightly to reflect real world testing.. V3 – Bassface logo added to front panel. Revised outer pack, revised magnet. Smoother paint finish. Posidrive screws converted to allen style bolts.
